Discipleship Resources

We understand that figuring out how best to disciple rangatahi and tamariki in your faith community can feel overwhelming. That’s why we’ve put together a hand-picked collection of resources to support you in this important work. These tools are designed to bring clarity to what discipleship is and offer practical, faith-based materials to help guide and grow young people in their spiritual journey.

But first—what do we mean by “disciple”?

A disciple is simply a follower of Jesus: someone who has committed their life to God, seeks a relationship with Him, considers Him Lord, and actively strives to live as He did.

Why is Discipleship Important?

Discipleship is foundational to spiritual growth. It helps individuals understand who God is, who they are in Him, and how they are called to live and serve in the world. For children, youth, and families, discipleship provides a framework for developing faith, identity, and mission.

But discipleship isn’t just for the next generation—it begins with us. As leaders, volunteers, and mentors, our own spiritual formation is essential. Investing in our relationship with God, growing in biblical literacy, and living out our faith with integrity equips us to disciple others authentically and effectively.
