The Leadership Collective

Ready to grow as a leader, deepen your faith, and be part of an unforgettable journey with young Salvationists from across our Territory and around the world?

The IYC Leadership Collective is a year-long leadership development experience for young adults aged 18-25, designed to equip and empower the next generation of Salvation Army leaders.

A major highlight of this journey is attending the International Youth Congress (IYC) 2027 in Jakarta, Indonesia, where young leaders from around the globe will gather from 15-20 July 2027 under the theme Empowering a Generation.

What's Included?

The IYC Leadership Collective is far more than a conference. Throughout the year, participants will engage in:

  • Two leadership development weekends at Booth College of Mission

  • Mentoring and discipleship opportunities

  • Leadership training and personal growth experiences

  • Attendance at the International Youth Congress in Jakarta

This experience is focused on leadership formation, spiritual growth, and building lifelong connections with other young leaders.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 18-25 on 15 July 2027

  • Be committed to participating in all aspects of the Leadership Collective

  • Have a desire to grow in their leadership journey and discipleship

Please note that the age requirement is set by International Headquarters and no exceptions can be made.

How to Apply

Applications for New Zealand delegates are open now here and close on 25 September.

Applicants will be asked to:

  • Complete an online application form

  • Provide references

  • Submit a short video introducing themselves

Successful applicants will be notified by 9 October, with online connection opportunities beginning soon after.
