Some of the funding opportunities available include:

Jeff Trust Funding

The Jeff Trust prioritises young people experiencing challenging situations, supporting initiatives such as agricultural education, vocational training, Bridge programmes, camps, and other programmes that benefit young people—our Tino Taonga (precious treasures).

• Applications open in November and close 1 March.

• Applications are considered by the Jeff Trust Allocation Committee

·       Accountability reports are due by 1 March (following year)

Grow Local Partnerships

Grow Local Partnerships are strategic investments aimed at fostering growth, momentum, and new expressions of Next Gen ministry.

·       Applications are considered in March and September

·       Current round closes 21 August

Thought Matters scholarship 

The Mission team has funding available to sponsor one young person, aged 25 or under, to attend Thought Matters Conference 2026 in Auckland from 9–11 October. Travel and registration costs will be covered for the successful applicant. There is also the option of presenting a paper. More information about the conference can be found here. Please share this opportunity with interested young people and invite them to email nextgen@salvationarmy.org.nz by 1 August to express their interest.

Outward Bound Scholarships

Every year, a donor offers 2 full scholarships (including travel costs) for individuals aged 18-26 to attend the epic 21-day New Zealand Outward Bound course.

Each year, a donor offers two full scholarships (including travel costs) for individuals aged 18–26 to attend the 21-day Outward Bound course in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Aotearoa New Zealand National Camp Funding

Funding is available to support tamariki and rangatahi to attend Salvation Army camps where finances would otherwise be a barrier.

• Applications are open year-round.

Youth Worker Training and Development Fund

Available to those employed in Next Gen roles in the Auckland and Far North areas, this fund supports strategic, high-impact development opportunities such as courses, conferences, internships, and study.

Tindall Foundation

The Tindall Foundation funds initiatives focused on improving the wellbeing of children, young people, and their families/whānau across Aotearoa New Zealand.

Funding rounds are held annually and reporting on outcomes is provided to the Tindall Foundation. 

·       Applications open 1 February and close 30 March

·       Applicants are notified by 30 April

·       Accountability reports are due by 1 August (following year)
